Echo and Trace are a pair of studio constructs exploring light, colour, perception and representation in photography.
Referencing traditional colour field painting and the phenomenological encounters generated by California Light Space artists, these works act as portals to the echoey space where memories, imagination and dreams reside.
The framed images are angled inwards in a state of reflection (or opposition), encouraging the observer to move around and inspect closely, drawing attention to the physical and cognitive act of perceiving.
